Here it is ... nearly all of it. My "frump-frump" collection, the Fiat key, a nearly full Little Mexico lunch card, the coolest shirt I own, a Swiss Army knife, and what little money I've saved over the years.

We made (and misplaced) several "to do" lists to help us sort through everything that needed to get done before we left. Included were the usual packing lists, making sure our pets were cared for (I miss my dog...) and the bills would get paid (anyone want to pay our bills for us? Anyone?), and completing several tasks at work. It also meant we needed to finally plot our deaths.

We had put this off for ... well ... up 'til now. It just always seemed a rather morbid topic to me. I also have this ridiculous notion that if I don't talk about it I won't have to deal with it. Kinda like, "Maybe since I'm not ready, it won't happen to me." Or, "If I think about this too much, maybe it will happen ..."

Truth is, when the time comes, I won't have to deal with it. But it will come and somebody will have to deal with it and so we tried to make it all a little easier for whoever is left to clean up after us.

So we met with an attorney, listed our assets, signed all the papers and updated all our beneficiaries. Pretty much got it all taken care of.

Can't say it was a comfortable process, but at least a few more things in our cluttered lives are in order...

And just in case you're wondering, we didn't leave you anything.
